Specialist Volunteer Network

Empowering a Community of Changemakers

Our Specialist Volunteer Network – connecting over 500 professional volunteers with Scotland’s charities to build capacity and strengthen the sector – is a key part of the Inspiring Scotland model. This support allows charities to focus on core business functions and streamline, scale and innovate to transform the lives of the most disadvantaged people and communities in Scotland.

Inspiring Scotland recruits and manages this community of changemakers, providing an opportunity for skilled volunteering that also results in increased wellbeing, upskilling and employability support for the volunteers themselves. Inspiring Scotland acts as “matchmaker” linking each charity support request with a volunteer or team with the skills they need.

In 2021, our professional volunteers donated ÂŁ610,350 of non-financial support to nearly 300 charities, helping them towards sustainability and increasing their impact.
