Youth Action Fund

Youth Action Fund

Established by The Distillers’ Charity, the Youth Action Fund aims to transform the life chances of people, aged between 16 and 25, in Scotland who are facing significant barriers to reach their potential, and empower them to create positive change in their lives and their communities.

The Youth Action Fund, an ambitious new charity initiative from the Scotch Whisky industry launched on 8th March 2022, driven by a commitment to make a positive impact on the lives of young people across Scotland for the long term.

A partnership across livery, industry and third sector

The Youth Action Fund is a major charitable initiative by the Distillers’ Charity, the philanthropic arm of The Worshipful Company of Distillers, which aims to make a difference to young people, helping them to reach their full potential, improve their life chances, and make a positive contribution to their communities.

The Youth Action Fund has been co-designed, building on the ambition of the Scotch Whisky Industry to make a positive impact on the lives of young people in their communities, in particular in communities which broadly sit aligned with the Scotch Whisky industry. The project is funded by the proceeds raised from the Distillers’ Charity One of One auction series, in collaboration with Sotheby’s.

Our collaborative approach

Inspiring Scotland was appointed by The Distillers’ Charity to manage the Youth Action Fund.

Six charities, Aberdeen Foyer, Action for Children, FARE Scotland, Street League, ENABLE Works and the Alcohol Education Trust are engaged as delivery partners in the Youth Action Fund, working together, sharing best practice, with the constant aim of making their work – and the outcomes – as impactful as possible.

Inspiring Scotland also supports the organisations with rigorous evaluation, to continuously improve and develop new ways of working, and to nurture partnerships through shared goals and interests, as well as by strengthening governance, maximising efficiency and scaling social impact.
