Youth Action Fund

Transforming Life Chances

The Youth Action Fund is a long-term initiative dedicated to transforming the life chances of young people in Scotland by bringing together charities that provide young people with real opportunities to develop life skills, discover what they value and become work-ready.

A partnership across livery, industry and third sector

This programme is a major charitable initiative by the Distillers’ Charity, the philanthropic arm of The Worshipful Company of Distillers, which aims to make a difference to young people, helping them to reach their full potential, improve their life chances, and make a positive contribution to their communities.

The Youth Action Fund has been co-designed, building on the ambition of the Scotch Whisky Industry to make a positive impact on the lives of young people in their communities, in particular in communities which broadly sit aligned with the Scotch Whisky industry. The project is funded by the proceeds raised from the Distillers’ Charity One of One auctions, in collaboration with Sotheby’s.

Our collaborative approach

Inspiring Scotland has been appointed by The Distillers’ Charity to manage the Youth Action Fund. Through our portfolio approach, we will facilitate close working relationships and build a strong, cooperative network to share learnings, overcome challenges and complement each others’ services to provide a more comprehensive service for young people.

Inspiring Scotland will also support the organisations with rigorous evaluation, to continuously improve and develop new ways of working, and to nurture partnerships through shared goals and interests, as well as by strengthening governance, maximising efficiency and scaling social impact.
