The Fund supports community-led initiatives that promote healthier lifestyles on the islands. The three aims of the Fund are:
The 56 successful Healthy Island Fund Projects delivered on 35 islands will support island communities to engage in healthy lifestyle choices and in turn support their physical and mental wellbeing.  The Healthy Islands Fund supports the aims and outcomes of the National Islands Plan and builds on the work of the Scottish Government’s Island Communities Fund.
They will contribute to Scotland’s fair and just transition to net zero, to climate-resilient living on islands, and to a broad range of Scottish Government policies, through inclusive growth and Community Wealth Building approaches.  The projects are incredibly diverse: from multi-generational activities, accessible walkways, promotion & participation in outdoor activities, locally grown produce and mental wellness.
