Our focus is on making a difference. 

One of our underlying principles is that we will put in place robust evaluation at the very start of each fund.   This allows us to understand just what difference we are actually making.  We aim to learn from this ourselves and also to share what we learn with others who are interested. 

In 2012, Inspiring Scotland commissioned an independent study of its innovative outcome focused venture philanthropy model to consider the added value it delivers for investors, for the ventures in which it invests and, ultimately, for beneficiaries. The Study completed by Arrivo Consulting Ltd found:

• For investors, the Inspiring Scotland model has increased the efficiency of their investment and maximised the social impact of their investment
• For ventures, the Inspiring Scotland model has built the capacity of entire organisations; creating stronger, more robust and more sustainable ventures
•  For beneficiaries, the Inspiring Scotland model has improved the capacity of ventures to deliver outcomes which can change lives
