Youth Highland is the principal non-uniformed voluntary youth organisation in the Highlands and supports some 60+ youth clubs and groups through an affiliation fee.

Go Play funding will support a project which involves the appointment of 2 part time staff who will promote the concept of introducing free play to all the clubs and groups affiliated to Youth Highland. This will centre around the creativity and stimulation that young people in the 5-13 age group will benefit from by being encouraged away from only being involved in organised activities. The workers will also be directly involved in introducing free play opportunities to the young people, especially in their own communities, by raising awareness of how local facilities can be utilised.
